Winter Luncheon 2005

December 4th was bright and warm for this event and with a lot of rain lately this was a real gift.  20 cars showed up and 26 attended the lunch from Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.  We had a buffet lunch at the University Club and parked in a lot of the University of Oklahoma.

Allen and Lynette Lofland showed their brown Spider which goes everywhere with them and is headed for fresh paint and modern “Woa” brakes this winter.

Delmer, Les, Ron, Csaba in front of the oldest 124 in the country.  Csaba with help from the others got the car running for Les two years ago and it is very original.  It is fun to see how our 124 Spiders evolved from this little run-a-bout.

Alfa club cars arrived at the show.  It is good to contact these owners and see their cool rides.

Jim Chandler’s Lancia  Fulvia Zagato Sprint won a prize at the prestigious ItalianCarFest last year.

Delmer and his Lancia Scorpion have created a real interest in these rare cars among club members that has not waned.  He has a Volumex  transmission to install for better highway gearing.

John Houchin’s perfect X1/9 and Ron’s 124 Spider are both owned by executives of the club and show up often.  John also brought his Pininfarina.

Delmer’s Spider is the car I look at when I want to see how something was originally done.
