Happy Holidays Everyone

Sunday November 24th brought the long awaited Thankschristmas luncheon. This event brought to a close the best ever year of activities for the Roamin' Chariots. It was held at the Lundberg Inn B&B near Bartlesville OK. Eighteen RC members attended this fine event put on by the club. Much thanks to Mike and Theresa Greer for their hard work and hospitality. Besure to check out the pictures at the link above or click here.

From Ken Dickson:
We arrived LATE Friday night in Bartelsville after a great run down old US 66 . The Greer's graciously took in the entourage from St. Louis, and we consumed some local BBQ and went to bed with some new stories and full stomaches. Thanks Mike and Thresa, we were bushed. The next morning, everyone met at Mike and Theresa's house prior to the luncheon around noonish. Theresa had prepared a wonderful snacks and wine party in her home prior to the main event at the bed and breakfast. A great time was had by all. We all parked out in the cul de sac in front of Mike's house and checked out the new cars.

Vickie had driven her very nice blue Lancia Zagato down from Wichita. This car is in very good condition and got a lot of attention from everyone. Woody had a new Lancia Beta that he was going to take all the way back to Florida. He and Allan had gone over the car in Wichita and although it was making some strange sounds, it arrived in St. Petersburgh a couple of days later none the worse for wear. Csaba showed up in an Alfa and we all speculated on where he got it and what happened to the spider.

Other notable events were Kris Dickson's "first" trip. Kris is on a learner's permit (15 years old) and drove his spider down from St. Louis. His mom put a couple of miles on her new MINI Cooper S that she got for her birthday, and together they terrorized the truckers along old hwy 66. Kris said it was hard keeping up with his mom. I've felt that way for years!

On a sader note, Bill Lambert had a breakdown on the way up from Norman with Ron, John Houchin, and Delmer Teet. Pretty good company for a breakdown if one has to break down. There is a link to the full story at the top of the page labeled "Bill's Excuse". Better luck next year Bill. We'll look forward to meeting you and seeing Betty better than ever at MOFLO 2003.

From Ron:

Glen Ferlemann

I am sad to report the passing of Glen Ferlemann. He lived in Stillwater and was a 124 Spider enthusiast. He was full of life and fun to have around at a meet. My thoughts go to Penny and his family.
