Italian CarFest in Grapevine TX

American car manufacturers defined themselves through their biggest selling cars, the sedans. They put style and comfort into the Delta 88's , Strato Chiefs, Impalas and Fairlanes and the Japanese have followed suit. The muscle car was a hopped up sedan or coupe. Now the Italians made tons of small family cars but really defined themselves through the sports cars that they and coachbuilder companies produced. Hence their family sedans are rather boxy and utilitarian but on the inside the driver is made to think of the Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini. The Lancias, Alfa Romeos and Fiats all had their hot versions from Abarth or the factory and these cars with sensual lines, nimble handling and look appeal were what the buyer of an 850 sedan thought about when buying the family hauler. The concept spawned some of the most beautiful and classy automobiles on the planet. This is what showed up for the Italian CarFest in Grapevine Texas. On the show field were 75 of the finest in automotive elegance and power. Of these were representatives of the Roamin' Chariots car club.

Ron in Canada

This year Ron Conlon went to Mosport Raceway in Canada for the vintage races. There he met with Andrew Celovski who is campaigning a 124 Sedan. It was a great 2 days and I recommend vintage races to the driver/owners and fans alike. Andrew benefited from information about Les Anderson's 124 Sedan from Norman.
