award from Fiat/Lancia Unlimited. Congratulations. They have brought the club to Kansas, run events and restored 2 beautiful Spiders with a Scorpion to come.

News from Mike Shay:

Good to hear you guys had a lot of fun. I am hoping that in Feb I'll be there to have some fun. Especially since I have a new toy. I bought her yesterday down here in Florida and am looking forward to my weekly drives. Working on ships has drawbacks of not being on land very often. But I saw this car and I always wanted to have one since I saw one racing at the historic races at Hallet back in 84... She is a 1974 Alfa GTV 2000 with a few mods. The prior owner took her to an Alfa Outing in Florida where this picture was taken...

Mike brought this car from Florida to Norman and Delmer and Ron tried it around the block. I can see the appeal of these.

Christmas Luncheon

This seems a long time ago but several members met at the Homestead B&B in Red Rock OK for lunch and a drive. Lunch was a great steak dinner and tour of the ranch.

  Stillwater Italian Lunch

In April we all headed for Stillwater Oklahoma, which is about a half way point from Kansas. Joseppi's was chosen and we shook out the winter bugs. From Norman 4 convoyed: Delmer, John, Ivan and Ron. They were met by Lynn and Allen Loftland, Mike Greer and Glen Ferleman.

While parked in the lot, an Alfa Graduate from Arkansas joined us. We might have a new member there.

On the return trip we stopped at several junked spiders on Hwy 9. One is a 79 and another a Pininfarina, both good parts cars with much missing.

MOFLO 2002

The latest news is that 40 have signed up with more to come. The motel is ours.

The 2002 event will once again be held in Osage Beach, MO on June 7th, 8th, and 9th. The Scottish Inn of Osage Beach will be our unofficial motel and general gathering place prior to any event. Overall we hope to have significant growth again in 2002.

The agenda is similar to last year, with arrivals on Friday afternoon and evening. We will have a cookout in the parking lot of the Scottish Inn on Friday evening to accommodate arrivals throughout the evening. Those that arrive early will hit the go-kart track next to the motel for some friendly competition. The carwash station will be open Friday night and Saturday morning to clean up for the big show. The car show will be Saturday morning June 8th, in Lake of the Ozarks State Park (go to www.mostateparks.com/lakeozark/map.htm for directions to the park). We will also caravan from the motel to the park starting around 9:00 a.m. Once again the car show is for display only, no prizes will be awarded, so feel free to show what you drive. Also, plans are shaping up for an afternoon gimmick rally around the Ozarks after lunch. This should be a lot of fun and give everyone a chance to see the cars and drivers in action. Saturday evening we have a nice dinner scheduled at the Kenilworth Restaurant / Osage Brewing Co. cocktails at 7:00 p.m. and dinner at 8:00. This is a larger facility and dinner will be served in a semi banquette style to accommodate our group. This will keep us from having to wait a long time to be served like happened last year. Once again Sunday is a drive home day.

Since participation has grown and we have great expectations for 2002, we are asking that people send in a registration this year. We would like to have these by May 18th. This is necessary for us to know what type of arrangements need to be made for dinner on Saturday evening and food for Friday night. It will also help with rally preparations. Friday's cookout will be $5 per adult and $2.50 for children, payable when you arrive. There will also be a $5 registration fee per car; also payable when you arrive, this will cover the nice participation plaque we have for every registrant that shows up at the event. Dinner on Saturday evening will be on separate checks and be paid directly to the restaurant. All we need is a count to give them in advance so that they can prepare the meals in a timely fashion. Please fill out a registration and send it in at your earliest convince.

The phone number for the Scottish Inn is (573) 348-3124 and the rate is around $60 per night plus tax. If the Inn is full you can contact me for additional lodging options. So plan on arriving on Friday evening, having a full day of Fiat/Lancia on Saturday and heading home on Sunday. Help us make this the biggest and best MOFLO yet.
