This is Jim's first MOFLO and it was nice to meet him and see what he has done with his new to him Spider.
Jim's Story: 3 years ago I found this car for sale in a small Arkasas town. My girl friend and I stopped, I took it for a drive around the block and bought it for 1500. Did not even know what the heck it was or where it came from. I just knew it was one of the coolest carI had ever driven. The first words from her were, why would by a POS looking car like this. It had not been cleaned in what looked like 20 years. A recent hail storm had put holes in the roof and water in the car, and the inside was filthy with dirt and the paint washorrible. But, the odometer said 20,000 miles and I could not find a tear in the interior, rust anywhere, and it ran strong. Turned out the owner bought it for his wife and it was always either too cold or hot for her, so it sat in their airplane hanger gathering dust on and off for 20 years as they waited to give it to a son who declined it for a 911. restoration progress
Started to clean on it and then my gearhead friend kept saying: well you have that off, you might as well take this off while you are here and clean it too. Next thing I know, everything but the dash and wheels are off the car. Finally got it running well in time for this years moflo. Suspension except the front shock is still original and is next on the list. New paint job, starter, coil, top and hoses, is about all I have changed, outside the performance mods. modifications, etc. and headers, exaust, 10:1 pistons, lightened flywheel, 34adf, desmogged, Guy Croft valve springs, lower end done to GC spec's. 91 hp at the wheels, 105 at the flywheel.
