Kris has been riding in Fiat Spiders since he was a baby. Now with one of his own, he is an avid enthusiast of all things Fiat. This is Kris's third MOFLO. His second one entering a car. He is one of the youngest registered FLU members.
Kris received his car for his 14th birthday and has waited until this year to be able to drive it to MOFLO by himself. He passed his driving test the day before he left for MOFLO. Last year he was part of a four car Fiat caravan from St. Louis with his mom along as co-pilot (in compliance with Missouri law).
This is one of the best looking and detailed spiders in the country. In addition to winning "Best Fiat Spider at FFO 2001, Kris has entered the car in three local carshows and has placed first twice and third once being beat out by a couple of Corvetts from the local club. He enjoys getting around at MOFLO and checking out the cars.
Kris's car is unusual in that except for the paint, it is in original condition. Also it has the only two Fiat authorized performance options that were available for the 1976 cars. The 34ADFA carb and single plane manifold, and headers.
The car also came with a beautiful set of 13X6 1976 OZ racing wheels and Moto Lita steering wheel. Kris has added a new Kenwood MP3 stereo player and rear box speakers to get the car ready for the long drive to MOFLO.
He's also added some small trim pieces. That's also a new Vitaloni "Abarth" mirror and many hours of detail work to get the car ready. Not installed in time for MOFLO, he has some German performance springs and drilled and slotted Brembo disks to install this summer to drop the car 1 1/2 inches and provide some more stopping power for the front of the car. We look forward to seeing them next year.
This year Kris participated in one of the tech sessions helping John Houchin install a radio and speakers in "Miss. Pinky", Laura Pletcher's distinctive Pink spider. Kris is already looking forward to next year's MOFLO and is making plans to try some of the things that he saw at this year's event.
